Imagine if all your clothes could be recycled to new ones once they were worn out. Would that not be quite a trick? Well actually it is not.
Fjällräven clothes labeled with the ECO CIRCLE symbol is a part of the world's first closed-loop recycling system. The system was developed by our friends at Teijin.

You see, the normal waterproof and moisture permeable materials used in jackets and rainwear are generally composed of nylon or other fiber material. They are then coated or laminated to make the material breathable and water repellent, something you most definitely appreciate during your nature excursions.

So what to do? Well, in our attempt to do our best for the environment we have previously found environmental friendly solutions such as organic cotton and bamboo. Now we can offer products made wholly of eco-friendly polyester that can be recycled in a closed-loop recycling system. In other words, once your Fjällräven Eco Circle products are used, we collect them and recycle them into new Fjällräven products with the same quality.

When looking at the production we found that energy consumption is reduced by 84% compared with production of new polyester real material from petroleum and that CO2 emission was cut by 77%. A truly valuable contribution to prevention of global warming and another step to a brighter future.
