Day 4, 14 April 2012

Yesterday Johan Skullman, our outdoor expert gave the participants a challenge; to sleep without tents under the open sky. Johan guided them on how to build a shelter next to a three, “we try to avoid wind drift as a priority number one”, says Johan.

During the night it was cold, at least 15 degrees below zero, “I haven’t frozen a bit, I was actually so warm that I had to open up the sleeping bag a bit” says Maria Ericson from Sweden.

The end of a journey

With straight backs and a firm grip of the dog sledge the participants passed the finish line of Fjällräven Polar. A journey of 330 kilometer on the Arctic Tundra is now behind them, a person with a dog sled is now a part of a team of seven, and the aura of confidence surrounds every one of them.

This transformation is the very essence of Fjällräven: with the right equipment and right knowledge anyone can enjoy nature. Even in this demanding area.

The participants have proved that it is possible to drive with a dog sled through the harsh arctic tundra. And they have enjoyed every bit of it.

Tears are shed when the participants crosses the finish line.
