Introducing Bergtagen

Where the trees don't grow but your spirit does

Entering the realm of the mountains will change you, in one way or another. There is an old Swedish saying for this humbling sensation.
You become Bergtagen. Engineered on nature’s terms for a life above the tree line, our new Bergtagen collection is a system of layers designed specifically for mountaineering.
THE BERGTAGEN LAYER SYSTEM Bergtagen is based on a system of four layers to protect you from the hardest storms while keeping you cool when working.

1. Base Layer

Keeping you warm on cold endeavours

This is the next-to-skin-layer. It’s soft and warm, and engineered from different blends of merino wool in a unique body-map design for optimized comfort, moisture management, heat regulation and insulation.

2. Insulation layer

Say goodbye to freezing belays

The garments in the insulation layer provide as much warmth as the situation requires. We use G-Loft Supreme with its great warmth-to-weight ratio in a selection of garments made for different ranges of cold temperatures. The parka and mummyfoot can be combined and used as a sleeping bag, while the jacket is designed as a lighter insulation layer.

3. Work layer

For adventures above the tree line

Extremely durable, yet pliant and breathable, these garments are for long-term use in demanding mountain terrain.

4. Shell layer

Negotiating the elements

The Shell Layer provides protection from bitter winds and precipitation. And as both jacket and trousers are made with Fjällräven’s own PFC-free Eco-Shell material, it’s protection you can rely on. The engineered cut offers restriction-free movement.
