Our Heritage
It all started with a backpack
Since 1960, nature's been in our DNA
Fjällräven began in one man’s basement and then branched out all over the world. But our original goal hasn’t changed: to inspire and enable more people to walk with nature. Follow our journey from backpacks and tents to sustainable development and events.

Product description
Inspired by an irresistible heavy-duty canvas fabric, the Fjällräven design team has created the pair of trousers that they’d like to live in themselves. Greenland Canvas Jeans are a timeless five-pocket model with articulated knees that give great freedom of movement despite their relatively narrow fit. The long-fibred cotton gives robustness and longevity – these are trousers that will just get better and better the more you wear them.

It was a Scandinavian climbing expedition to Greenland in 1966 that symbolized the need of the 1960s for functional and durable outdoor clothing. Based on of the feedback of the expedition alpinist’s, the first Fjällräven jacket saw the light of the day.
Today, the Greenland family consists of a number of products that are all made in G-1000, all with details and characteristics from the original model of 1968.
