G-1000 is Fjällräven´s own unique fabric and a classic ingridient in Fjällräven´s equipment. The densly woven fabric is a blend of 65 percent polyester and 35 percent cotton, making the material extremely hardwearing at the same time as it breathes well and dries quickly. One of the G-1000 material´s greatest characteristics is its superior breathability, which particularly useful for active outdoor use. With the application of an environmentally friendly impregnation made from beeswax and paraffin, the material also becomes water and dirt repellent.

Water repellent & quickdrying
With Greenland Wax impregnation, your G-1000 garments will be resistant to rain and moisture. This means that you can wear them during brief showers. In heavier rain, you can easily increase the impregnation yourself. If the material still becomes wet, it will dry quickly. The blend of polyester and cotton makes the material incredibly fast-drying.

Windproof
The densly woven fabric makes G-1000 almost entirely windproof. With the impregnation the fabric gives you complete protection against the biting wind, a characteristic you can further improve by applying more Greenland Wax.

Hardweaing
G-1000® is highly resistant to wear. More than twice as hardwearing as denim. Combined with its low weight, this makes G-1000® garments ideal for traveling and outdoor life.

UV-protection
The densly woven fabric provides 100% protection from the sun´s alpha and beta rays. This characteristic is extremely useful for our Travel line, which includes clothes intended for use in very strong sunshine.

Mosquito safe
The dense G-1000 fabric offers protection against irritating mosquito bites and makes a G-1000 garment the perfect companion on both the mountains and the forest.
