Fjällräven began in one man’s basement and then branched out all over the world. But our original goal hasn’t changed: to inspire and enable more people to walk with nature. Follow our journey from backpacks and tents to sustainable development and events.
Spend your winter warm and dry in traceable down. Cosy up to a range of men’s insulated down jackets. For everything from mountain treks to city strolls.
When it comes to functional materials, nature knows best. Down is no exception. It keeps birds warm in all sorts of conditions without adding bulk or weight. So, why not you too?
But how exactly does down work? Under a microscope, a down feather looks like a tree. The part that is attached to the bird, the trunk, has a lot of small fibres branching off of it into ever-smaller fibrils. These loose structures trap air and it is this air that insulates against heat loss.
The down that Fjällräven uses has the added benefit of being responsibly sourced. So, when you invest in one a men’s light down jacket or men’s waterproof down jacket, you can rest assured that it lives up to our strict animal welfare criteria.
Ensuring the down insulation stands the test of time is up to you. If you have ever wondered how to wash a down jacket or how to dry a down jacket, it is easy. A men’s down jacket can be machine washed up to 40°C. You can tumble dry your jacket on low heat with a clean tennis ball to restore its fluffiness. If you have to dry it naturally, choose a place that is well-ventilated and give your jacket a good shake to ensure the down doesn’t accumulate in one place. Never dry clean your down jacket.
