Kånken Art by Linn Fritz
Piece by piece. Let’s keep plastic
out of the oceans.

About 71% of the Earth´s surface is covered by the oceans. They produce over half of the oxygen on our planet, they´re the home to over one million species of animals and even more plants. Furthermore, the oceans are the key regulators of the climate. So it´s safe to say that every living thing on Earth is dependent on the health of our seas.

Tragically, estimates indicate that by the year 2050, there will be more plastic in the oceans than there are fish, unless we seriously change our habits and the way we handle our waste.

Kånken Art ‘21 aims to increase awareness around these problems, but also hopes to inspire change: Since 80% of ocean plastics come from land, our immediate surroundings are a good place to start. Let’s do it together, one piece of plastic at a time.

Working together against plastics.

The Kånken Art program is part of the Arctic Fox Initiative, meaning that 1% of every purchase from the Kånken Art ’21 goes directly to their work. For 2021 we have chosen to work with organisations that support the reduction of plastic waste as well as focusing on cleaning up what is already out here.

#IRespectNature

Together with the The Arctic Fox Initiative, we´re joining forces with The 2 Minute foundation and Leave No trace to keep plastics out of the oceans, piece by piece. If you get our new Kånken Art ’21 from our online store, you will also get an easy-to-bring Trashbag that you can collect plastic waste in, again and again.   Take a picture of your full Trashbag, or any other bag that you filled with plastic waste, and tag it with #IRespectNature for the possibility to be featured in our channels.
